Volkswagen Amarok Configurations

VOLKSWAGEN AMAROK

Volkswagen has been making its Amarok pickup since 2010, and since then, the company has added a host of features which make it the most versatile vehicle in its class on the market.

The Amarok comes in three varieties: the Trendline Amarok starting from £34,013, the Highline which you can buy for as little as £38,711, and the Amarok Aventura beginning at £47,921 OTR.

What Car? Pick-up Award

In 2019, the Amarok won What Car? Car of the Year in the pick-up category, making this one of the most desirable heavy-lifting vehicles you can buy.

You can configure all of the vehicles in the Amarok line-up. The Trendline Amarok is only available with the company’s 3.0 litre V6 TDI (which emits 212 g/km). You can choose from two solid paint colours - candy white and tornado red - for no extra cost. If you’re prepared to spend an extra £660, you can upgrade to a range of metallic finishes, including chestnut brown and Mojave beige. At the top of the line of paints is “deep black pearl” - a pearl-effect paint with a unique sheen. Again, you’ll pay an extra £660 for the privilege.

The Trendline Amarok comes with a lot of features as standard. You’ll get a spare steel wheel and all the usual accessories, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 3-seater bench at the front, a 6.33-inch touch screen with VW’s regular functionality and a leather-clad steering wheel. For an extra £222, you can add the lights and vision package which gives you auto headlamp activation and a windshield wiper with a rain sensor.

If you want to upgrade your steering wheel to feature gear-shift paddles, you can. For just £144, you’ll get a cruise control system, Tiptronic gear change, leather inserts and a multi-function display and controls.

VW also allows you to upgrade the in-car infotainment system. The standard system comes with DAB radio, and a USB port for hooking up electronic devices, smartphone interface and voice control. For an additional £684, you can upgrade the existing system to include the Discover Media Navigation system, an infotainment feature that provides you with updates information on points of interest across the whole of Europe.

What about customising the bodywork? Currently, VW offers a chrome styling pack. The chrome styling pack gives you a styling bar and a centre high-mounted brake light, as well as chrome trim on the vehicle’s exterior. Total cost comes in at £1.890.

Currently, VW including its electronic stabilisation program and front fog light as standard. However, the company does give you the option of equipping the Amarok with a cornering fog light too, allowing you to see more around bends in low-visibility conditions. You can add a cornering fog light for £90.

Finally, the Amarok can also be equipped with a tyre pressure warning light - helpful if you’re carrying heavy loads and want to make sure that your vehicle is performing optimally. The tyre pressure warning light is an extra £192 on top of the base price.
